GM to sell Volt on eBay

General Motors is set to sell the first batch of its upcoming Chevrolet Volt petrol-electric hybrids on eBay.

Last week, GM admitted it was in talks with the auction site about trialling a scheme in California to sell its cars online.

When asked about the likelihood of the Volt being used to trial this scheme, Chevrolet brand manager Ed Peper said, “Exactly. We actually have been thinking about that same application to be able to do that. It something that’s definitely crossed our mind.”

Each Chevrolet Volt is likely to be built at a loss due to the amount of complex and expensive technology. But selling the car on eBay would allow GM to sell models for a higher price, as demand should exceed supply.

Progress is being made in talks between GM and eBay and an announcement on the official launch of the scheme is expected in the coming weeks.

“Fritz [Henderson, GM CEO] is really mandating we move as fast as we can on everything we’re doing,” said Peper. “It will be hopefully in the August to September timeframe. We’ve got more details to work out on, and we’ll let those go at an appropriate time.

“If it works in California it should work just about anywhere.”

Pre-production tests of the Volt have recently started in the US and it is scheduled to reach dealerships in 2010

The Audi Cross Coupe debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show and it has Audi Q3 written all over it. Picture a Audi A3 jacked up with Quattro and the famous DSG transmission giving you one great driving experience. In the front look for the "S like" headlights and rear LED tailights letting drives know from the rear that you are piloting an Audi.

It wont come till 2010, so there is still a lot of time before we see this new small suv.

Seat Ibiza Bocanegra Production Version Ready

No one expected it. At this year’s Auto Salon in Barcelona, SEAT managed to turn heads with their new Seat Ibiza Bocanegra. I mean with the production version of their Ibiza Bocanegra (”black mouth”). A concept that got the press attention last year in Geneva, the Spanish automaker turned it into the real deal.

With a front fascia, bumper, headlights, and honeycomb mesh grille all covered with a black “finish”, Ibiza Bocanegra is being powered by a 1.4-liter TSI enginethat can be customized to output either 150 hp or 180 hp. And because the engine is quite small (though the output is great), the hatchback is expected to perform really well in terms of fuel efficiency. Running on 17-inch Sira alloys, with a new darkened sunroof and a mesh side grids and a spoiler in the back, that’s one of the most interesting SEATs in a long time.

2010 Transformers Edition Chevrolet Camaro

The Transformers Revenge of the Fallen has been a colossal success and with it, has raised the rage to run those yellow Camaros’ again. General Motors given the crisis has picked up on the right car to redeem itself somewhat with the introduction of the 2010 Camaro Transformers Special Edition.

There are no plans to char your pocket for if you already possess a Camaro, you can do good with a $995 appearance package which includes Autobot insignia fender badges and wheel caps, an embroidered Autobot insignia on the center console, gloss-black rally stripes with Transformers logos and Transformers-logo doorsill plates. Nissan 370Z - all you need to know about it

Nissan found a really nice way to say Happy New Year to those passionate about speed and style. Debuted in November at the LA Auto Show, their 2009 Nissan 370Z got more specs out including a price. The super coupe is replacing the older 350Z, and is now powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque.

Also interesting is that the new Nissan 370Z is going to feature two new transmission options including a six-speed manual with an optional rev-matching feature (automatically blips the throttle on downshifts) and a seven-speed automatic.

On the inside it promotes luxurious materials that scream comfort and exquisiteness from every single part: amazing stereo, leather-trimmed sport seats, navigation with with iPod connectivity.

On the outside and spec-wise Nissan 370Z should include a double-wishbone front suspension, a wider body (1.1 inches), front and rear spoilers, Nissan Sport brakes (sport package), boomerang-style headlights and taillights, and a antilevered roofline.

Starting at $29,930 for the base version (6-speed transmission), the 370Z Coupe hops at $31,230 if you’d like the 7-speed automatic brings the total to $31,230. The other version the car will be offered in, the Touring model, starts at $34,460 with the 6-speed manual or $35,760 with the aforementioned automatic.
